Retreats

The time set apart to step away from daily life, encounter Jesus our Lord more deeply, and renew one’s faith through prayer, reflection, and the sacraments. It invites silence, listening, and a fresh openness to God’s guidance.

A Sacred Pause. A Deeper Encounter. A Time to Rest and Reflect.

Retreat at Xavier Learning Community

In the midst of life’s noise and responsibilities, it can be hard to find space to pause, reflect, and listen to the deeper movements of your heart. At Xavier Learning Community (XLC), we believe that intentional retreat—time set apart for reflection, prayer, and quiet—is a powerful way to renew your spirit, gain clarity, and reconnect with what matters most.

A Place to Pause and Be Still

A retreat at XLC offers you the opportunity to step away from your usual routine and enter into a peaceful, contemplative environment where silence and simplicity create space for inner rest. Whether you are seeking spiritual renewal, clarity in decision-making, emotional re-orientation, or simply rest from the busyness of life, a retreat invites you to slow down, breathe, and be present with yourself and with God.

Step away from daily distractions

Engage in intentional prayer and reflection

Sit in silence and listen deeply

Rediscover meaning, purpose, and direction

“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
— Mark 6:31.

What to Expect on Retreat

Retreat Experiences Tailored to You

We offer individual and guided retreat experiences that can be adapted to your needs and schedule. Retreats can range from a few days to longer periods, allowing you to enter more deeply into reflection and spiritual renewal. A spiritual guide from our community is available to walk with you, help you reflect, and support your discernment process. You may arrive with questions, restlessness, or simply a desire to slow down—what you find here is space: space to be quiet, to be honest with yourself, and to be open to what the Spirit is inviting you toward.

  • Quiet spaces for prayer, meditation, and reflection
  • Rooms and facilities designed for restful solitude
  • Opportunities for guided conversation with a spiritual companion
  • Time for reading, journaling, or contemplative walks

Like many retreatants at Jesuit centres, participants often speak of the healing power of silence, the gift of uninterrupted time, and the depth of insight that arises when the external noise fades away. The Seven Fountains+1

You do not need to be religiously affiliated to retreat with us. Whether you come from a place of faith, curiosity, search, or simply a desire for calm and reflection, our retreats are open to all who wish to slow down and engage more deeply with their inner life.

Retreatants from many walks of life—students, professionals, parents, travellers, and those in transition—have appreciated the peaceful environment and the opportunity for meaningful inner work that a retreat offers. Tripadvisor

Practical Information

Length of retreat

Retreats are structured flexibly — whether you have a few days to spare or are seeking a longer period of reflection, we can work with your schedule.
Each retreat begins with an opening conversation to discern your intentions and flow, and concludes with a time of integration and reflection.

Why Retreat at XLC?

A retreat is more than a break from routine—it is an invitation to:

Renew your spirit Let go of what drains you and make room for what brings you alive.
Regain clarity and direction When the noise fades, the path forward becomes surprisingly clear.
Reconnect with your deeper values Pause long enough to ask what truly matters, not just what’s urgent.
Rest in silence and simplicity In stillness, you remember that you are enough.
Grow in awareness and peace Each quiet moment is a small act of becoming more fully yourself.

Participants often describe their time on retreat as transformative—a space where they could let go of distraction, hear their inner voice more clearly, and return to life with renewed focus.
